Archontiko Mesohori is located in the old habitation of one of the most impressive picturesque villages of Greece. It is an old mansion of the 19th century, totally renovated in order to satisfy the needs of modern times.

The owner told us that there is no problem to book our bus and that he can help us. During our stay we learn that the bus connection was full for the next day. We had to leave one day early a the owner did not wanted to get our money back whereas his informations was wrong concerning the possibility to leave the place. Pulling up to Archontiko Mesochori put a smile my face, as I chose the location for our small group. We were all in awe of the surrounding beauty but also very happy with the hotel. We were greeted warmly and given a map and area information as we checked in. Both rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The views from the rooms and especially the garden are amazing. We sat outside and enjoyed a glass of wine and the view before exploring Meteora just before sunset. It took only minutes to stand on the rocks over looking all of the monasteries. Perfect location. In the morning we met our guide at the Holy Monastery of Great Meteoron, again only minutes from our hotel. After our day at Meteora we returned to Athens and I was sad not to return to Archontiko Mesochori. Next time we plan to stay many days at this great hotel! | 5 |

Niko and Alberta were warm and welcoming to visitors, the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, but the best part is having such a great space while being so close to the monasteries and in the shadows of the Meteora rock formations. Kastraki is a special place. I was worried it would be challenging to navigate here and around without a car, but between inexpensive taxi rides (?3.50-5) to get there from Kalambaka, and the public bus service up to the monasteries, which passes through Kastraki's main square, it was easy and inexpensive.
